Public Schools of Robeson County provide public education
and there are several private schools nearby as well.
Higher education is available
through Robeson Community
College and the University of
North Carolina at Pembroke.
Culture is important to the
community as well. The Arts Council and Robeson Little Theatre
associatons provide the hub of cultural activities. Attractions
and theater are available at the Carolina Civic Center and Givens
Performing Arts Center. The Robeson County Museum houses
history and artifacts of the area. The Robeson County Library
offers a summer program for children and a Saturday afternoon concert
series.

Recreational opportunities
are available throughout our county. There are year-round
city and county Recreation programs. The county is home to
five golf courses, a public lake for boating and swimming, lighted
tennis courts and athletic fields, a country club and 30 parks. The
scenic Lumber
River provides opportunities for canoeing, kayaking and boating. Annual
events such as the Highland Games in Red Springs and the Fairmont
Farmers Festival are some celebrations that highlight the heritage
of the region.
